Nabil Husami, M.D.

is a partner at American Fertility Services, P.C., which has locations in Manhattan, NY, and Hackensack, NJ. A recognized leader in women's health care issues, Dr. Husami has devoted his life to the twin missions of providing the highest standards of treatment in assisted reproductive technologies and finding a cure for endometriosis. As a reproductive endocrinologist and expert laparoscopist, Dr. Husami has extensive experience successfully treating endometriosis and infertility.

For over twenty years, Dr. Husami has focused his research, practice, and teaching on infertility and reproductive endocrinology. Dr. Husami graduated with a medical degree from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, and completed a residency program there in obstetrics and gynecology. In 1975, he came to New York and joined the residency program at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. He then went on to complete a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeon, where he remains on staff as Associate Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

He is also Director of the Center for Endometriosis Treatment and Research at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, where he oversees and conducts research into new ways to treat endometriosis.

In 1982, when the field of assisted reproductive technology (ART) was still in its infancy, Dr. Husami was one of a team of pioneers who established a program for IVF and embryo transfer (ET) at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, New York.

Dr. Husami is an active member of New York Obstetrical Society, American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists (AAGL), American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), American Infertility Association (AIA), RESOLVE, and InterNational Council on Infertility Information Dissemination (INCIID). He is fluent in French and Arabic.
